The Sandman
Ironically in the first episode when he managed to escape his cage, he successfully managed to send me to sleep. One episode was enough for me.

Missing (1982) A very interesting film about a father and a wife team searching for a son/husband who "disappeared" during the Pinochet clamp down in Chile on anyone who did not conform. Its directed very well and the acting is great. A real eye opener on how the CIA backed the dictator to the exte...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
loved Gomorrah. Every season was slightly worse than the one preceeding it but even series 5 was excellent. Like all shows it became deritive. It should have ended at 4.

Re: Film analysis
brilliant. Never seen the film and I don't have to now but a good editor is more valuable than a good director. I can see how this film could have been amazing but was let down by the director's lack of original thinking

Panic in Needle Street (1971) This is a gritty film about how a couple of druggies begin to see their life fall apart. Pacino's second film and you can see the makings of Michael Corleone. It even has Al Neary in the film, it was like watching a parrellel universe. 7/10 Day for Night (1973) A film ...

Film analysis
I am continually impressed by how amateur film documentary makers are producing such original and interesting videos, so I thought we should have conservation dedicated to them. This one is really interesting. It explores an aspect about the music from the Shining and what a genuis Gordon Stainforth...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Hollywood really is in a pickle. Its so sad that I am looking back to the 70s for good films. What a testament of how an industry has lost its way.

Re: General TV News
As I said having a diverse set of races in LOTR does not bother me.
Having a diverse set of characters in historic settings does.

Re: General TV News
As a non-white person even I am getting a tad fed up with juxopositing black people in cold environments which would not be compatiable with their skin tone unless they travalled there. For LOTR I don't care as its all bollocks anyway but adding black people to historic settings that was predominate...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
The Offer (Paramount+, watched on the high seas ;) ) I really enjoyed this. It is about the making of The Godfather. Some liberties with history are taken (only a few) but overall they got the main beats correct. I listened to Coppela's directors commentary for The Godfather and most of the interes...
